THE ART OF BURNING

For an optimal and enjoyable burning experience, please read the following instructions carefully:

▷ Burning

Achieving the best performance from our scented candles involves adhering to a specific burning ritual. It's crucial to allow the entire candle surface to liquefy before extinguishing it during each burning session. This practice prevents the unsightly formation of craters and facilitates a smoother burning process. During the initial lighting of your candle, expect a longer burning time than subsequent occasions. Let the first layer of wax completely liquefy approximately 3-4 hours.

We also recommend extinguishing the candle within one hour once the wax surface has entirely liquefied. This helps extend the candle's lifespan by allowing the liquid wax to evaporate more efficiently.

Ensure your candle is not left burning unattended, and avoid exposing it to heat sources or drafts, as this may cause flickering and the emission of black smoke.

Additionally, exercise caution not to burn the last centimeter of wax, as a flame against the ceramic vessel could lead to shattering.

▷ Care

In order to preserve the aesthetic appeal and prolong the life of your scented candle, proper post-burning care is essential.

To prevent soot formation, regularly trim the wicks to a maximum height of 0.5 cm and clean the jar's interior using an alcohol-free product. After each burning session, reposition the wicks in the center if necessary.

Over time, the fragrance in the upper layer of the candle naturally evaporates. Consequently, during the initial burning, the candle may emit a lesser amount of fragrance.

In general, the intensity of the scent is heightened when there is a greater amount of liquid wax, as it allows the fragrance to escape more easily.

It is recommended to wait until the entire wax surface has liquefied before extinguishing the candle and to use it more frequently. This practice ensures that the candle is utilized to reach the wax with a more concentrated fragrance, enhancing the overall olfactory experience.

Your candle will approximately burn for 60 hours.

The burning times given assume that the candle is used correctly.

A candle tends to consume itself more swiftly when its wax has completely melted compared to when it retains some solidity. Consequently, we suggest extinguishing your candle approximately one hour after the wax has fully liquefied. This practice will prolong its overall lifespan.

If your candle is positioned on a surface with a slight slope, carefully rotate the candle.

Should your candle be affected by a draft, either rotate the candle or relocate it to a less exposed area.

Maintaining an even surface for your candle is crucial to prevent the formation of holes that could potentially drown the wicks. Consequently, we advise against extinguishing your candle until the wax has completely liquefied.

▷ Wick Length:

The wicks may be too long. It is advisable to trim them down to 0.6 cm, even during the candle's burning process if necessary.

▷ Extended Burning Time:

If the candle has been burning for an extended period, it's recommended to extinguish it within the hour once the wax surface has completely liquefied. Prolonged burning can lead to less stable combustion, increased flame flickering, and heightened soot production.

▷ The candle is in a draught :

If the candle is exposed to a draft, the flame may flicker excessively, resulting in increased soot emission. In such cases, reposition or gently relocate the candle to a less exposed area.

▷ Uncleaned Interior:

Accumulated soot on the inside of the vessel, especially if not cleaned regularly, can fall back into the wax when the ceramic vessel heats up. This mixture of soot and wax burns poorly, producing black smoke. It is advisable to clean the inside of your candle regularly using a cloth soaked in an alcohol-free product. Avoid using products containing alcohol for cleaning.

▷ Room Size:

If the room where the candle is burning is too small, it can contribute to increased soot.

Identifying and addressing these factors can help mitigate black smoke emission and enhance the overall burning experience of your candle.
